Claire Burke Dain is a Chicago based painter that works mainly in oil and acrylic. She earned Her BFA in painting at the Kansas City Art Institute and a studio assistant for Chicago painter Margot Bergman. She has followed many career paths since returning to Chicago in 2018, as well as experimented with many different styles of painting. Her current work questions comfort. When someone is immune to new ideas and change it can lead to moral decay. In her work, she depicts this relationship by inserting intrusive figures that deform and change the subject.
